PEOPLE can look forward to 2 brilliant comedy events in Southport this week. 

The Southport Comedy Pub Crawl, plus the Comedy Bingo Spring Social sponsored by Halliwell Jones Kia Southport, are back at Southport Market for the final time this season after bringing laughter and smiles to people over recent months. 

Both events are hosted by Brendan Riley and take place on:- Wednesday, 22 April 2026, offering superb value. 

People can call in for the fortnightly Comedy Bingo Spring Social sponsored by Halliwell Jones Kia Southport during the day with tickets just £3 (including bingo books and a free drink). 

Then, in the evening, visitors can join the hilarious Southport Comedy Pub Crawl supported by Sefton Council with 5 different comedians in 4 venues for just £5 each. 

Tickets for either event can be booked in advance, or people are welcome to turn up and pay on the door.  
Brendan Riley said:- “These are the final 2 Comedy Bingo Spring Social and Southport Comedy Pub Crawl events of the current season - you won’t want to miss these 2! Come down and join us for either 1 - or for both! Let’s give them both a proper finale! Both offer brilliant value and a great way of brightening your day with lots of laughter! Over these darker winter months, they’ve been a great way of bringing people together and bringing people into town." 

Brendan continued:- “We’d like to say a big thank you to Halliwell Jones Kia Southport, to Sefton Council’s Tourism team, to Jordan and all the traders at Southport Market for all their support, along with all the local businesses who have kindly provided us with prizes for our Comedy Bingo. 1st up is our popular Comedy Bingo Spring Social sponsored by Halliwell Jones Kia Southport, with doors opening at 1pm for a 1.30pm start. We always get a great crowd for comedy bingo gatherings. They’re inclusive and for everyone! Whether you’re 5 or 105, come and join us and see if your numbers come up! We have some excellent prizes to be won, kindly donated by a range of local businesses. Admission is just £3 each, which includes a free drink, and your bingo books. Then, in the evening, come and join us for our 5th and final Southport Comedy Pub Crawl!" 

Brendan added:- “We used to run Comedy Pub Crawls before the pandemic as part of our Southport Comedy Festival, and it’s been superb to see them back, thanks to the Sefton Council Tourism team. We’ve welcomed great crowds so far with around 80 people in each one, and we’re looking forward to seeing another large audience this week. We all meet from 6pm at Southport Market, which is the perfect venue for anyone who wants to grab something to eat before we start from the superb traders they have inside. After that you’ll join us on a mirthical mystery tour with five comedians in four different Southport town centre venues for just a fiver! The pub crawls are a win-win - they’re a win for Big Comedy; a win for the venues when 80 people head in on a midweek night; and a win for Sefton Council, which is keen to help grow trade for local business in Southport. Southport Comedy Pub Crawls are organised by Big Comedy UK and funded by Sefton Council, to showcase Southport’s rich and vibrant night-time economy.

15 different Southport town centre venues have been hosting the Southport Comedy Pub Crawl project, providing a much needed boost to hospitality revenue in the town centre during the Winter and Spring period.
