Got a community idea? Sefton Crowd is offering up to £5,000 to make it happen
THE deadline to submit a project for the Spring 2026 round of Sefton Crowd is fast approaching.
Sefton Crowd is a crowdfunding programme, delivered in partnership between:- Sefton Council and the community platform:- Spacehive, helping residents bring meaningful, community-led ideas to life. Through the initiative, organisations and individuals can apply for a maximum of £5,000 from Sefton Council’s Community Transition Fund, helping to empower local people and give them the opportunity to create and deliver innovative projects that enhance the borough. Previously in the Spring of 2025, Sefton Crowd was able to support 2 fantastic projects. The Rowlands Dell project, transforming a formerly neglected historic quarry into a vibrant eco-haven, revitalising the area near Maghull’s A&E Centre. And the provision of funding for the Lucilla Theatre, which helped the Lucilla Dramatic society to replace outdated stage lighting with eco-friendly LED lamps and secure the future of their clubhouse. If you have a similarly community led initiative that you wish to bring to life, get involved. The final date for project creation is:- Thursday, 23 April 2026. To create your own project page for Sefton Crowd, or to learn more visit:- Spacehive.Com Misha Dhanak, CEO of Spacehive, said:- "When communities come together to develop their own ideas, it builds pride, strengthens connections, and creates lasting change. Through our partnership with Sefton Council, we're excited to help residents make a real difference in their neighbourhoods." Patrick Hurley, MP for Southport and the Northern Parishes, said:- "Funding that puts the community first should always be at the forefront of any Council’s agenda, and it's fantastic to see Sefton, in partnership with Spacehive, providing the stimulus for organic community led growth. Within Southport there are already some brilliant grassroots initiatives, so to any residents looking for support for preexisting projects or to create a new 1, I strongly encourage you to apply for Sefton Crowd."
