AS part of the large-scale European environmental campaign “Cleaning Up Our European Home,” Ukrainian volunteers and the local Liverpool community will hold a joint clean-up event in Sefton Park. The event will take place on:- 29 March 2026 in the area around the Eros Fountain.

The event is organized in partnership with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain and NGO Kryla Culture CIC. The project is implemented by Strichka, a coordination platform for Ukrainians abroad, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.

In addition to Ukrainian and British volunteers, a representative of Liverpool City Council will attend the clean-up.

Participants will clean the park, sort waste, and plant yellow and blue flowers around the Eros Fountain. These blooms will stand as a living symbol of the Ukrainian community’s presence and its ongoing contribution to the life of the City.

Yuliia Ivanova, co-founder of NGO Kryla Culture CIC, said:- “We are incredibly grateful for the warmth and support shown by the City and the council, which is why Sefton Park was our 1st choice. It means a lot to us to tidy this area and restore the flower bed where Ukrainian symbols stood during Eurovision. By replanting these flowers, we want to give back to the city that has truly become our home”.

Following the clean-up, participants will have the chance to socialise over a community picnic in the park or, should the weather turn, gather at a nearby café.

Event details:-
Date:- 29 March 2026
Time:- 11:30–14:30
Meeting point:- Eros Fountain, Mossley Hill Dr, Liverpool L17 1AJ

“Cleaning Up Our European Home” is a large-scale campaign that unites Ukrainians in 9 European countries:- Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Estonia, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania. Since November 2025, displaced Ukrainians have been cleaning parks, alleys, streets, and waterfronts to thank the countries that sheltered them during the most difficult period of their lives. Through these actions, they demonstrate their readiness to work for a clean and prosperous future for all of Europe.

Strichka is a civic initiative and coordination app for active Ukrainians abroad. Since 2024, the platform has cooperated with 65 partner organizations worldwide and has already implemented more than 20 large global campaigns in support of Ukraine. Through the app, users can complete tasks that benefit Ukraine, earn points, and exchange them for military souvenirs, psychological consultations, books, and other useful items.
