Amber Weather Warning
THE UK Met Office has issued the following weather warnings for:- Friday, 6 December 2024, Saturday, 7 December 2024 and Sunday, 8 December 2024, associated with Storm Darragh, which could lead to travel disruption and damage to some property.
Please note that Storm Darragh likely leading to some disruption and damage. Please avoid visiting sea fronts and exposed coastal areas due to the chance of injuries and danger to life, from:- large waves and beach material being thrown around.

Due to Storm Darragh, the public viewing of HMS Prince of Wales, which is docked on the River Mersey, in Liverpool, has been cancelled for:- 7 December 2024. Capt Blackett said:- "We are not going to be able to get you on board tomorrow. It's unsafe, and we're going to have cancelled opening of the ship to visitors on Saturday. The weather does improve on Saturday night, and we are still planning to open the ship on Sunday. For those of you who have tickets on Sunday, we'll look forward to seeing you on board."
As Storm Darragh moves over, and after it has passed, please take extra care, as both the wind and the rain could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. There is likely to be longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. The heavy rain could also result in some communities will become cut off by flooded roads, so expect extra disruption to any journey. Both the wind and rain could also cause structural damage to some buildings and also result in trees being uprooted. There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as:- mobile phone coverage and internet services. Please check:- MetOffice.Gov.UK for updates.
