Warning of Passport delays as strike action to take place
OVER 1000 members of the Public and Commercial Services Union at the Passport Office Workers are going on strike for 5 weeks, from:- 3 April to 5 May 2023, Monday to Saturday. The strike action is being held following unresolved disputes over:- jobs, conditions, and pay.
The strike will affect both applications and deliveries of passports in the run-up to the summer holidays. The strike affects England, Wales, and Scotland. Currently, the strike doesn't affect Belfast, but they could join the strike, soon, if a ballot currently being held is found to be in favor of action. This situation could impact many holiday plans, and have a potential impact, yet again, on the leisure and tourism industry.
