The discount is available on all of the train operator's 2,500 services a day
THE train operator Northern has urged carers across the North of England to remember they are eligible for a special 25% discount on Advance Purchase tickets on the Region's train services, during Carers Week 2024, which runs until:- Sunday, 16 June 2024.
The saving, which are available via the Discounts for Carers website, is delivered in partnership with Network; a company that specializes in employee discounts and benefits. Stuart Taylor, who is the Head of Commercial Development at Northern, has said:- "There are 5.7 million unpaid carers in the UK providing essential support to friends or family members. With their thoughts focussed on the welfare of others, it's easy for those providing care to forget they themselves are eligible for support; in our case, a 25% discount on Advance Purchase tickets. Carers, both paid and unpaid, do an amazing job and we're happy to support them by offering this special discount on their journeys." Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges that carers face, and recognize the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. Northern launched its partnership with Discounts for Carers in March 2023. As part of the same scheme, the train operator also offers a 25% discount on Advance Purchase tickets to NHS workers, teachers, and employees of registered charities. COMMENTS (0)
