⚠️ New time set for the UK's Mobile National Emergency Alert Test ⚠️
THE test of the new national alert network will take place on:- Sunday, 23 April 2023. This alert will be sent to all mobile devices on the UK's phone network. It doesn't track you or send any dater out, unlike what some people have claimed online.
This new alert system is a push system, that will trigger your device to play a sound and vibrate for 10 seconds. It will also push out a message that will give you some information. In a real emergency, the system will trigger phones within the broadcast area of selected phone masts to alert people, within a predicted danger area, about the unfolding situation, such as a terrorist incident or a flood alert. The test was originally scheduled for early evening, but this would clash with an FA Cup Semi-Final, which is due to start at:- 4:30 pm. It also couldn't do the morning as it clashes with the:- 9.30 am start of the London Marathon. The new time of the National Test of the new mobile alert system will now take place at:- 3pm.
