50 fearless fundraisers to spend 24 hours running around Marine Lake in Southport
OVER 50 fearless fundraisers are walking or running around the Marine Lake in Southport this weekend, to raise vital funds for disabled people and their carers to enjoy holidays in our Town.
The Lakeside Runners 24 Hour Fundraiser started at 11am this Saturday, 21 October 2023, at the Revitalise Sandpipers Centre in Southport, going unti:-l 11am, on:- Sunday, 22 October 2023. Walkers or runners are welcome to join in and take part in the event. People are also being invited to donate by visiting the Lakeside Runners JustGiving page here. Every penny raised will support the work of Revitalise Respite Holidays, which provides respite holiday care to disabled people and carers at their Sandpipers centre next to the Marine Lake in Southport. Throughout the 24 hours this weekend, the Lakeside Runners will have someone out either walking or running around the Marine Lake. Samantha Gaden from the Lakeside Runners said:- “Anyone who wants to join in is welcome; you can either walk or run? We have approximately 50 people involved at the moment to take part. Each lap starts and finishes at the Revitalise Sandpipers and that’s our base until:- 11am on Sunday. The idea is to always have someone going round the lake for 24 hours. It's £5 to take part and then any donations from people to the JustGiving page to raise as much as we can!” Revitalise is a national charity, providing respite holidays for disabled people and carers for over 50 years. It is the largest provider of this service in the UK, offering around 4,500 holiday breaks each year at its centres in Southport and Southampton. To donate please visit the Lakeside Runners JustGiving page here. var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-5165542-3']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
