RTC on Formby Bypass (A565) on Liverpool Road (Lighthouse) roundabout in Formby
ON Thursday, 24 August 2023, Merseyside Police have conformed that emergency services are currently attending an incident on the Formby Bypass (A565) at the roundabout into Formby, known locally as the Lighthouse roundabout.
The road has been fully closed to Southbound traffic, heading to Liverpool, from Formby Tesco junction to the South Enterance Roundabout, following a collision involving a motorcyclist and a white HGV at around:- 10.30am. Merseyside Police said:- "A man who was riding the motorbike sustained several serious injuries and was taken to Hospital. The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting Officers with their enquiries. Formby Bypass is closed from Altcar Road Southbound whilst Police Officers continue their investigations."
