Interview with Gary Millar a former Lord Mayor of Liverpool (2013 to 2014) & respected entrepreneur.
Photo with thanks to Natalie Hughes, Local Enterprise Manager - Business Development Manager Natwest WE have recently had the privilege of interviewing Gary Millar, who is a former Lord Mayor of Liverpool (2013 to 2014) and former Liverpool City Council - City Cabinet Office for Culture Executive, and Tourism and Enterprise Executive, between:- 2008 to 2010. Gary is also a very highly respected entrepreneur who is best known for his work with the Grammy award-winning Parr Street Studios, Liverpool (the UK's biggest recording studios outside of London) along with setting up The Fashion Hub (2017 to 2022).
Gary is now running the:- "Entrepreneur In Resident" Business Clinic with both:- The Women’s Organisation and Merseyside Enterprise Hub. Thanks to its volunteers, they offer a free service to help entrepreneurs, giving free advice for existing businesses, and also pre-startup businesses. The Liverpool Central Library is to enter free and fully accessible to all visitors. There are excellent facilities throughout, and it offers free Wi-Fi access and even meeting room hire! The drop-in Business Clinic is free to attend, and you do not require an appointment. Did you know? Liverpool Central Library was Britain’s 1st purpose-built public lending library and it is the largest of the 22 libraries within the City, with 5 floors housing an amazing variety of services and books. This amazing building is located in the City Centre, between:- The World Museum and the world-famous Walker Art Gallery. The Grade II* building underwent a £50m refurbishment in 2013 and is now a unique blend of old and new architecture, with parts of it dating back to 1860. The venue is home to the Region's national archive service, which contains unique and rare archives from the 13th century to the present day, which tell Liverpool and the Region’s story. The building also contains the William Brown Library and Museum. Within the Library, you will find the amazing circular domed Picton Reading Room, regarded as 1 of the most beautiful libraries in the world!
