Babies should be given peanut butter to reduce allergy numbers
FOLLOWING extensive research, babies aged 4 and 6 months are to be given tiny tases of smooth peanut butter in an attempt to cut peanut allergies.
Behind the recommendation is that scientists have discovered there is a crucial opportunity to cut allergic reactions by 77%, should this take place during weaning. Scientists say that the Government's advice needs to change, including that no solids should be given to babies until around 6 months. But, Scientists warn that chopped or whole nuts and peanuts should not be given to children under 5, due to choking risks. Would you give your baby peanut butter? If not please let us know why, and if yes, why you think the study findings should be followed. Let us know your thoughts on this news topic...
