MERSEYSIDE Police are dealing with an ongoing situation 29 July on in Southport. Currently, they have said:- "Emergency services are in Southport after a major incident this morning (Monday, 29 July 2024). A male has been arrested and a knife seized. There are casualties. There is no wider threat to the public."
Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner has said:- "Like everyone, I am deeply shocked and concerned about the major incident in #Southport this morning. An arrest has been made and there is no wider risk to the public. I would urge people to be careful about what they share online and not to speculate about this incident. An official updates will follow shortly." North West Ambulance Service has said;- "We're attending a major incident on Hart Street, Southport following reports of multiple stabbings in which we have dispatched multiple resources. We're assessing the situation and working with emergency partners. Please follow our channels and official social media."
