Merseyrail's Southport Station team win prestigious award
MERSEYRAIL'S station team at Southport has won the 'Public Service of the Year' award at the Your Southport Stars Awards 2024.
The team was recognised for the exceptional commitment and dedication they showed in keeping the people of Southport moving, with the prize being decided by a public vote. More than 200 guests were welcomed to The Grand in Southport to join the celebrations, and over 80,000 individual votes were cast across the 11 categories. The annual awards night, organised by Southport BID, celebrates the vital contribution and positive impact of Southport Town Centre businesses. Sally Ralston BEM, Merseyrail’s Community Involvement Manager, and Andy Wall, Station Manager at Southport and Ainsdale, accepted the award on behalf of the whole station team. Andy said:- "We were up against some fantastic organisations that provide essential services to the people of our Town such as:- Merseyside Police, Arriva Buses, Southport Education Group, Holy Trinity CE Primary School, and Light for Life Sefton. So, to be crowned the Best Public Service of The Year when we’ve been up against such great competition is truly amazing! The awards night made it clear to me just how passionate the people of Southport are about their town. This is reflected in our friendly station teams. Everyone is so committed and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure the best possible experience for our customers, so all the credit goes to them.” Sally said:- "Getting this recognition for our team at Southport is such an honour, particularly as it came from a public vote by local people. All our staff are committed to providing the best customer service we possibly can. We’re proud to support the people and businesses throughout the region and delighted to be recognised in this way." var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-5165542-3']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
