IF you are unaware, Miss England is held every year to find the nation's ONLY entry to Miss World and the Regional Qualifier title Miss Liverpool City Region is now looking for new contestants.

Did you know that the winner of this title Miss Liverpool City Region is directly entered into the finals of the Miss England Contestant, bypassing the Miss England Semi Finals?

If you want to enter and think it is your time to win and represent not only the Liverpool City Region but also England at Miss World, enter now!

For all those who think this contest is all about being thin and blonde... Think again!

Like the competition, you should move with the times. If you think it's just a swimwear parade, well that part of the Miss England contest was scrapped back in 2009, after the then Miss England, Katrina Hodge, who was at the time a decorated serving soldier said she thought it was to:- "degrading." The contest organisers then agreed and they scrapped the round completely. Today the contest is focused more on raising money for charity, knowledge, and setting a good example to others. For example, Miss England in 2019, 9 hours before the start Bhasha Mukherjee's 1st shift as a Junior Doctor, aged 24, was crowned Miss England! Then Bhasha Mukherjee, who is now a Respiratory Specialist, continues her career as a Doctor amid the Coronavirus Pandemic, and put her crown to good use promoting the NHS within the media, during her free time. The current Miss England winner Jessica Gagen (27) is from Skelmersdale and qualifying as a rocket scientist, on her mission to become an astronaut!

To take part in Miss England, hopefuls cannot be younger than 16 years of age or older than 27 within their year of entry. They are not allowed to be married or have given birth to children. Contestants must hold a full British Passport and reside in the UK. They must not have posed topless or nude in photography.

The group running Miss Liverpool City Region is currently working on updating the Regional Heat's website, but you can sign up for the Miss England Contest online at:- MissEngland.Info.
