MARKING 1 Year On from the tragic events in Southport, the local community says that the memories of:- Babe, Alice, and Elsie will never be forgotten. We are also told that the people of Southport would like to say that:- "the families and those affected will never walk alone, and will continue to be supported."

Sefton Council has said that flags have been lowered at half mast across buildings throughout the Region today to remember everyone who was directly affected by the tragic events of last summer in Southport.

A '3 Minutes Silence' at:- 3 pm today. Please remember to take part if safe to do so.

In a statement by Sefton Council, they said:- "Your compassion has been a source of comfort to all affected through their darkest days. The shared grief, countless acts of kindness, and especially the commitment to honouring the memory of:- Alice, Bebe, and Elsie have meant more than words can express. In respect of this deeply personal time, we ask that no floral tributes be laid at either Hart Street or at school settings; however, a small designated area for floral tributes is available in the Town Hall Gardens for those who still wish to bring flowers. The silence at:- 3 pm will be recognised by the Council and other public bodies, and we ask everyone to join with us, wherever you may be. As always, support remains available to anyone affected by the events of last July and people will be available at the various local reflective spaces to offer help and guidance to anyone who may need it. You can access support by visiting:- Sefton.Gov.UK/SouthportTogether."
