LVP 3x3, the UK’s biggest free 3x3 basketball tournament, returns to Chavasse Park at Liverpool ONE this month for its 3rd and most ambitious year yet.

Created by Toxteth EL8TE CIC and funded by Merseyside’s Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP), the event is part of a wider mission to provide safe, positive and healthy opportunities for communities across the region.

Running from:- Friday, 30 May to Sunday, 1 June 2025, this year’s tournament will once again feature free open coaching and mentoring sessions daily, designed to give people of all ages and skill levels the chance to build confidence, try something new and connect through sport.

The afternoon tournament games will feature more than 60 teams across categories from Under 12’s to adults competing in back-to-back games, culminating in a high-energy grand final on Sunday afternoon.

Since its debut in 2023, LVP 3x3 has grown rapidly. In 2024, over 100 teams and 460 players took part, with tens of thousands of people visiting Liverpool ONE across the 3 days, establishing it as 1 of the largest open-access basketball tournaments in the UK. The event remains completely free to enter and attend, removing financial barriers and ensuring access for all.

New Addition for 2025

LVP 3x3 will also partner with the LIMF Academy, an award-winning talent development programme that supports young music creators aged 16–25 from across Merseyside.

The newly announced 2024/25 cohort will headline LVP 3x3 with a series of live performances, DJ sets and late-night music sessions across the weekend.

Since launching in 2013, the Academy has helped over 5,000 emerging artists develop their skills and break into the music industry, making it a vital force in the region’s cultural scene.

Whether you're a player, a basketball fan, a music lover, or just looking for something new to experience this half term, LVP 3x3 offers an unforgettable celebration of culture, sport and community in the heart of the City.

Emile Coleman, Co-Founder, Toxteth EL8TE CIC said:- “Each year, the impact of LVP 3x3 grows - not just in the number of players and teams, but in the depth of connection we’re building across communities. What started as a tournament is now a powerful platform for change, and a key part of our wider Toxteth EL8TE mission to make sport, mentoring and opportunity genuinely accessible. With new partners, more young people involved, and the energy of the City behind us, 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest and most meaningful year yet.”

Kate Gilston, Project Manager of LIMF Academy said:- "We are very happy to be supporting Toxteth EL8TE with their 3x3 tournament by platforming some of the most exciting emerging music artists and DJs at their vibrant and hugely popular annual event at LIVERPOOL ONE. Music is such a massive part of the culture of Basketball, and sport generally, so following on from our activity at the Netball World Cup earlier this month, this makes perfect sense for us"

Merseyside Police Commissioner Emily Spurrell said:- “Over the past few years, we’ve seen how basketball has that incredible ability to bring people together, and I’m delighted to support this groundbreaking tournament once again. I know that our Violence Reduction Partnership, like me, is proud to partner with Toxteth EL8TE, expanding opportunities for those already passionate about the game, while also encouraging more young people to get involved in sporting activities. The 1st free LVP 3X3 Tournament was a huge success, and last year’s event built on that good work, with even more people getting involved across the weekend. We’re aiming to make this year’s event even bigger and better. By offering safe, healthy, and engaging activities, we’re helping young people channel their energy into something positive, building brighter futures that will benefit communities across Merseyside now and in the future.”

Debi McAndrew of Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership said:- “LVP 3x3 is the culmination of the year-round commitment and dedication that Toxteth EL8TE puts into supporting young people and communities through sport, mentoring and positive engagement. It’s far more than a tournament - it’s a celebration of what’s possible when grassroots provision and long-term investment come together. We’re proud to continue supporting this incredible work and to see the real, lasting impact it’s having across the region.”

Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director at Liverpool ONE said:- “We are delighted to once again join forces with Toxteth EL8TE to host LVP 3x3 at Chavasse Park. The tournament champions accessibility, community, and opportunity, and celebrates local talent, all of which we are extremely passionate about at Liverpool ONE. We are confident that our visitors will be blown away by this showcase of emerging sports and music stars”

As well as the MVRP, the tournament has been supported by Liverpool ONE, Concordia Clinic, WEDGE Collective, Nothin About The Music, LIMF Academy and Elite Portal.
