THE latest forecast by the UK's Met Office is warning of the strong possibility of snow showers will that could have an impact to travel within Scotland, Northern Ireland, and along the East Coastline of England, for- Monday, 6 March 2023.

This forecast is based on the recent high-pressure system being predicted to be moving away to the West at the start of next week, resulting in a possible Polar Vortex,. Should Polar Vortex happen, it could allow a Northerly airflow to sweep in, across the UK, which would introduce an arctic maritime airmass, and with it snow showers to those parts of the UK. As a result, a:- 'Yellow Weather Warning' was issued today by the UK's Met Office, for:- Scotland, Northern Ireland, and along the East Coastline of England, from:-  00:00 to 23:59 GMT.

Should this happen, the snow showers will predominantly impact Northern and Eastern areas; however, it will be cold across the UK, with widespread freezing conditions for most of the UK, overnight. Also, these wintry conditions will likely persist through much of next week,

On Merseyside, the temperature overnight is predicted to drop to:- 0°C or below. This will also lead to hazardous driving conditions and a risk of some travel disruption.
