Leading skin cancer screening provider opens Merseyside Clinic
By Newsroom

THE Mole Clinic, the UK’s leading independent skin-cancer screening and mole-check provider, is continuing its national expansion with the launch of a new clinic in Liverpool on:- 18 May 2026.

Situated at Granite Building, Stanley Street, Liverpool, L1 6AA, the clinic will offer Full Body Skin Checks, Mole Mapping, Single Mole Checks and Doctor-Led Mole Removals. The opening reflects growing awareness around skin cancer prevention and the need for accessible, specialist-led services across Merseyside.

Skin cancer diagnoses continue to rise across the UK, with melanoma cases increasing steadily over the past decade. The link between UV exposure and melanoma is well established, with studies showing a significantly elevated risk among those who used sunbeds at a young age.

Annie Meharg, Chief Executive Officer of The Mole Clinic, said:- “Liverpool is a city known for its energy and strong community spirit, and we’re delighted to be opening here. As awareness around skin health grows, more people are recognising the value of having their skin checked by specialists. Whether it’s time spent outdoors along the coast, attending sporting events, travelling abroad or simply enjoying sunny weather at home, UV exposure is often greater than people realise. Skin damage can accumulate gradually, and changes may not always be obvious at 1st.”

Annie continued:- “By opening in Liverpool, we’re making expert skin assessment more convenient and reducing the anxiety that often comes with waiting for answers. Patients can access rapid appointments, clear guidance and, if required, onward treatment — all without needing a GP referral.”

Dr David Veitch, Medical Director at The Mole Clinic, added:- “Skin cancer is 1 of the most treatable cancers when caught early. Prompt identification allows us to intervene at an earlier stage, which often means simpler procedures and better long-term outcomes. Our Liverpool clinic combines advanced dermoscopy, structured Mole Mapping for higher-risk patients, and Doctor-Led Mole Removals within a clinically robust pathway. It’s designed to provide both reassurance and rapid action where appropriate.”

Over the past 2 decades, more than 350,000 patients have benefitted from The Mole Clinic’s services. The organisation’s dermoscopy-led model is independently accredited and widely trusted for its diagnostic precision.

The Liverpool clinic will offer:-

  • Same-day and next-day appointments

  • Full Body Skin Checks

  • Mole Mapping

  • Single Mole Checks

  • Doctor-Led Mole Removals

  • Fast-track referrals to consultant dermatologists and surgeons covered by ALL major UK private insurers

  • Direct private access with no GP referral required

Community outreach activity will also take place locally to encourage sun safety awareness and early skin cancer detection.
