STFC Daresbury Laboratory announces Apprenticeship Open Evening 2024
DARESBURY Laboratory, part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), will once again open its doors to students and those looking to explore their next steps towards their future career.
Whether you have just left School or College, want a change of direction, or are seeking a challenging alternative to:- University, Daresbury Laboratory offers an exciting range of apprenticeship opportunities. The event will showcase the range of excellent opportunities available, with world class training and the opportunity to earn while you learn. Accredited training in an exciting range of opportunities at Daresbury Laboratory participate in real, cutting edge science and engineering projects, and support exciting international collaborations around the world. It is currently recruiting for apprentices in an exciting variety of areas and roles, including:-
During the open evening, attendees will have the chance to find out more about each of these career paths directly from the departments, current apprentices, training providers and the Apprenticeship team.
STFC's Michelle Smith, Senior Apprenticeship Coordinator at Daresbury Laboratory, said:- "STFC's Daresbury Laboratory has been pushing the boundaries of modern science and technology for over 60 years, with a mission to solve our most urgent societal and industrial issues, from healthcare to the environment. The wide and varied range of apprenticeship opportunities we have here are designed to ensure that we have access to the people and skills we need to support this mission, and the complex needs of our expanding portfolio. Apprenticeships are a fundamental and highly valued part of STFC's strategic vision. They receive accredited, word class training from approved providers, alongside excellent on the job training in a supportive, collaborative environment led by experts across many fields." Located in the Borough of Halton, at Sci-Tech Daresbury in the Liverpool City Region, Daresbury Laboratory apprentices have the real opportunity to pursue their interests and passion, whilst gaining access to additional core skills development, alongside potential opportunities for overseas placement. Michelle Smith added:- "Here, all our apprentices are part of a truly vibrant community of apprentices and, in addition to world class training, it is also home to a number of popular sport and social groups, not to mention our Annual Apprentice Award celebration.
