Protests descended on Southport
A 'Unite the Kingdom' protest took place in Southport, on:- 26 October 2025, along with counter protestors, on what was a cold and very damp Sunday.
The 'Unite the Kingdom' group gathered on Marine Drive before marching to the Town Hall. The counter protest assembled near the Pier, by the Funland amusement arcade. The latter then shadowed the:- 'Unite the Kingdom' whilst chanting slogans like:- "Nazi scum, off our streets."
Both groups were separated by a large Police presence to ensure the safety of all those taking part and the wider public. Also, a Section 60 Order had been put in place to help with the Policing operation.
The march ended with both sides shouting at each other accross Lord Street, outside the Scarisbrick Hotel.
We understand that only 1 arrest was made. We understand that it was a 37 year old male, from Blackpool.
The counder protesters surprisingly, appeared antagonistic to the press and even challenged photographers about taking their photos. All sides were extremely vocal, but were physically reserved.
