Easter Sunday
ON Easter Day, Sunday, 20 April 2025, St Luke's Church, in Formby, held a Sunrise Service, on top of the observation point, located on the Formby Point Sand Dunes.
St Luke’s Formby we are trying to put Jesus back in his rightful place in our lives and this is one of the many unusual events they do with the local community. To find out more about the:- "Church in the Pinwoods" please visit:- StLukesFormby.Org.UK. As the Sun broke through the twilight and started to rise over the National Trust's Car Park and Pinewoods, the group sang a hymn and a few prayers where said, including the Lord's Prayer.
This was a very early start to an Easter Sunday, at:- 5.22 am, but the red, orange, and purple, on a very light cyan sky made for a dramatic effect that made the early start worth it.
![]() The service even had a fly past with a flock of grease flying in formation.
![]() Following the event, the group headed back to the Church for Hot Cross Buns and a hot drink.
