102 year old Southport D-Day veteran Harry Howorth remebered on 80th Anniversary
TODAY is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and in Southport an unusual:- 'Random Act of Crochet Kindness' has been made on Lord Street, Southport, to commemorate the occasion. Southport Hookers have made a unique art work called:- 'Harry Howorth 1921 to 2024' as part of the UK Post Box Toppers network.
The models are of a soldiers in uniform, a Lancashire Bomber and a tank. The soldier was inspired by local D-Day veteran Harry Honworth who recently died aged 102.
