ThE last named storm of 2023 has been named by the UK Met Office as Storm Gerrit, and has lead to several Yellow Weather Warnings being issued across the UK.
The effects of Storm Gerrit to the North West of England are expected to bring yet another period of very windy and wet conditions through Wednesday and into Thursday.
Affecting Merseyside will be 2 Yellow Warnings, 1 for rain and the other for wind.
The Met Office says we should expect:-
- Possible delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer.
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
- Delays for high sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.
