A short time back Paige Carr was sent from her School to do a work placement with us and had never done an interview, let alone filmed doing an interview. We think she did an amazing job interviewing 19-year-old, Elijah Poritzky, who is a US Tennis Player.

IT was a privilege to be able to meet 19-year-old Elijah Poritzky. on:- Monday, 26 June 2023. Elijah is from New York USA, but studies in South Carolina USA, He has always dreamed of becoming a full time professional tennis player and has played tennis ever since he was 4 years old. After taking part in the 2023 Liverpool International Tennis Tournament Elijah has since returned back to the USA, but we had a chance to get an exclusive interview with this rising young tennis star of the future.

Within this interview we learned that as well as playing in tournaments in the USA, he will continue to study Media at College. As soon as Elijah graduates from College, he will be able to start full time training and is aiming to eventually get to Wimbledon, as that is his dream.

During Elijah’s stay in Liverpool, Elijah said he:- "loved it" and thought it was a:- "Great City!". He added that he liked the 2023 Liverpool International Tennis Tournament a lot more this year compared to his time at the 2022 Tournament. He also commented that the crowds and people are always great, and he thought the organisation was much better this year.

During our interview we gathered quite a lot of information about Elijah’s developing tennis career, and what his aims are for the future. We also covered the differences between playing Tennis in the USA compared to the UK, as well as covering the differences he noticed during his stay in England compared to the USA.

Within our interview we also discussed what the differences are in playing in the USA compared to the UK, he informed us that as Tennis is a sport played worldwide the rules are more or less the same but the only difference between the USA and the UK is that the courts are different. In the UK it is more common to play on grass courts but in the USA it is more common to play on tarmac courts.

Looking at his latest appearance at the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, we discussed how Elijah played a game of cricket with another tennis player called Marcus Willis. Elijah told us that Marcus did a much better job than him, but it was Elijah’s 1st time ever holding a cricket bat. Even though he struggled, Elijah would love to play some more when he next returns to the UK... He also commented that cricket is still not his sport in the USA.

Within my interview you can hear that we also mentioned how Education supports his Tennis career, Elijah mentioned how there are so many colleges in the USA and a number of different divisions that you can go to and play Tennis as well as get an amazing education depending on where you go. However, Elijah is getting an amazing Education and is bettering his level of tennis every day. We asked Elijah if Studding Media was a plan B just encase his Tennis career does not work out. Elijah said that even though it is tuff in tennis to make it, he doesn’t look at it as a plan B because he is so focussed on making it. However Elijah is just trying to find out what he likes to do, he does interviews, live coverage of sporting events, and Marketing. He loves doing these things because it is his passion. The sporting events that Elijah covers are:- American Football, Soccer, and Basketball. He has recently done a job with PGA covering Golf. He got behind the cameras and was broadcasting for the live coverage of Golf, he thought it was really cool.
