MERSEYSIDE Police have asked the public for information after carrying out a warrant in the Bootle area of Merseyside.
We are told that Officers from the Force's Operation Pelican identified a container that was located on Derby Road, Bootle, that was believed to be linked to criminal activity. Upon it's discovery the Officers then carried out a search at around 7.45pm, on Thursday, 26 January 2023. Within it they discovered an imitation firearm that had been hidden inside a couch, which is not believed to be a viable firearm. They also found and seized 5 scrambler bikes.
After the raid, Sefton Community Policing Sergeant Kris Allinson said:- "We are in the early stages of an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward so we can find those responsible. This firearm, like others we seize, looks extremely realistic. Although not a viable firearm, they can be used to cause fear in our communities. Operation Pelican is a small, proactive team set up in 2017 to combat tensions between rival organised crime groups in the area. Key to this success is often the information from those people and communities most affected, so if you have any information please come forward."
Merseyside Police are now asking any information with information about this ongoing investigation, to contact them on Twitter at:- @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on:- 0800555111, quoting reference number:- 23000077178.
