Runcorn and Helsby By-Election
A By-Election for the United Kingdom parliamentary constituency of Runcorn and Helsby is due to take place on 1 May 2025.
The seat is currently vacant, and was last held by Mike Amesbury (Independent) between:- 4 July 2024 to 17 March 2025. 2024 General Election. This By-Election will be Labour's 1st big electoral test of the broader political mood that could set the tone since regaining parliamentary control. Background:- In February 2025, the former MP, 55 year old Mike Amesbury, was sentenced for punching a constituent at a taxi rank in the early hours of 26 October 2024.
