ALDI has now reached 83,572 children in Merseyside through its Get Set to Eat Fresh programme.

As part of the programme, the UK’s 4th-largest supermarket works with ParalympicsGB and Team GB athletes to teach children aged 5-14 about affordable, nutritious eating.

Since its launch, the programme has helped more than 3 million young people across the UK learn essential cooking skills and develop a better understanding of how to prepare healthy meals on a budget.

Aldi and ParalympicsGB have also announced that they have extended their partnership through to 2032.

The supermarket will be supporting ParalympicsGB athletes as they work towards the Milano-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, as well as the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, the French Alps 2030 Paralympic Winter Games and the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games.

Aldi has been an official sponsor of ParalympicsGB since 2022. With this latest agreement, the partnership will now span a full decade, highlighting Aldi's continued commitment to ParalympicsGB and its para athletes.

The collaboration builds on Aldi’s existing partnership with Team GB, which the supermarket has supported since 2015.

Kyrsten Halley, Marketing Director at Aldi UK, said:- “We’re proud of the impact our Get Set to Eat Fresh programme has had in supporting children across the UK, helping them learn about healthy eating, cooking skills and how to make nutritious meals on a budget. Not only this, but we’re excited to extend our partnership with ParalympicsGB through to the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games. This decade-long commitment reflects our shared values of inclusivity, determination and community. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower children, while supporting ParalympicsGB athletes as they strive for success on the world stage.”

Since 2022, para athletes have supported 56 store openings across the UK and delivered inspirational assemblies to local schools as part of Aldi’s ’Get Set to Eat Fresh’ initiative.
