CHESHIRE and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) is reaching out to people with experience of challenges related to living with a personality disorder, inviting them to play a key role in shaping the future of services.
The CWP Complex Care Transformation Project is committed to involving people with firsthand experience to improve services and care pathways for individuals struggling with difficulties associated with personality disorder.
Participants can choose how they wish to get involved; hether in person, by email, or by post—offering flexibility to suit individual preferences. A formal diagnosis is not required to take part.
Dr. Amrith Shetty, Director of Medical Workforce and Joint Clinical Lead for Complex Care Transformation Programme, said:- "At CWP, we deeply value the input of people with lived experience, recognising how essential their voices are in shaping future services. The Complex Care Transformation Project is working to improve services and pathways of care for people who struggle with the difficulties associated with personality disorder. I encourage people to get in touch with us and contribute their views in whatever way feels comfortable to them."
1 participant shared their experience:- “It is empowering to be involved in such important work. As a previous service user, the project has allowed me to use my experience for the better, whilst also giving me a sense of purpose. I have attended and contributed to meetings and workshops, and I have seen how my input has been used throughout the project.”
The goal of the project is to create a consistent approach, grounded in evidence and best practice to support people with complex emotional needs. Flexible engagement methods ensure participants can contribute in a way that works best for them. There will also be opportunities for interested participants to get involved in other projects.
