DUNES Leisure Centre and Splash World in Southport issued a 'Scam Alert' earlier this week on X (Twitter) after Sefton Council was made aware of an email doing the rounds to businesses within the area.
Sefton Council have told us that:- "We have been made aware of scam emails circulating regarding an event named:- 'The Living in Southport' Show at Dunes Leisure Centre / Splash World in Southport. This email is being sent from a company identifying themselves as:- 'National Promotions' that is offering companies a promotional stall for free. This event is NOT going ahead at Dunes Leisure Centre, and we have no affiliation with National Promotions or their event. If you receive the email, please ignore it, and do not reply with any of your information."
Our newsroom has not seen this email, but a local business has informed us that if it is the one they deleted, it also invites the recipient to buy tickets for a workshop within Southport.
