Taxi insurers steer Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal in Southport
STAFF at a Southport insurance company have given a bumper boost to the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal for a 3rd year running.
Team mates at InsureTaxi on Leicester Street collected more than £300 worth of toys to hand over to the charity to distribute to Southport youngsters. The company, which insures more than 9,500 customers nationwide, also welcomed donations from local drivers who stopped off with toys and selection boxes. Branch director Karl Garcia, a father-of-two, said:- “Our annual Christmas toy collection has become a tradition in our office and also receives great support from customers. The cost of living crisis has hit our area hard and the Salvation Army doesn’t want any child to wake up without a gift on Christmas morning. We will remain right behind them.” The 48 strong workforce has also raised £500 towards a Ukraine ambulance appeal this year with collections and charity car washes. Karl added:- “It has been a particularly busy year for us as the taxi industry recovers to normal levels post-pandemic. We hope to welcome more local sales and admin staff next year.” Founded in 2005, the company insures thousands of private and public taxis and traditional black cabs nationwide.
