Building interest in construction careers
A group of carpentry and joinery students from Riverside College in Runcorn have visited a Persimmon development in Merseyside to get a taste of a live construction site.
The students visited our Summerhill Park development to see firsthand the practical side of working in construction and learn more about the different aspects of housebuilding. North West Apprentice Manager Nici Milner arranged the visit to help demonstrate the wide range of careers available to young people in construction. Nici Milner, Apprentice Manager, Persimmon North West said:- “Persimmon is committed to nurturing young talent and fostering interest in careers within the construction industry. We were thrilled to host students from Riverside College and offer them a glimpse into the process of building new houses. Our site managers showcased examples of Persimmon’s construction practices and how we go above and beyond to build high quality, affordable new homes for local people.” Persimmon is committed to supporting education and providing opportunities for young people in the local area . The company has over 500 plus apprentices and trainees nationally with around 50 in the North West Region.
