North West Air Ambulance responds to incident on Formby Beach
ON 15 October 2023 the North West Air Ambulance attended an incident on Formby Beach along with:- the National Trust Rangers, Coastguard Search and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, and Police.
The incident is believed to have happened when a rider was dismounted from a pony on the beach. Initially, the Air Ambulance landed on the beach, near the old Lifeboat Station, but as the crew attended to the patient, the EC135 aircraft (Airbus Helicopters Eurocopter H135) was relocated next to the National Trust's Formby Point Car Park. We can confirm that North West Air Ambulance did not carry any patients back following its attendance, We have not received any more official information about the emergency but will give you an update in our next issue.
