DUE to their exceptional performance in employer-designed T-level qualifications, students from Hugh Baird College are now poised to pursue their dream careers following the release of this year's results.

As 1 of the Liverpool City Region's largest providers of T-levels, the College is celebrating the recent successes of its students as a clear example of how T-levels are an ideal pathway for cultivating the future workforce.

Introduced at the College in 2021, T-levels are technical qualifications that incorporate a 45-day industry placement with an employer to ensure that students acquire the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours for their chosen fields. Additionally, they hold the same value as three conventional A Levels.

96% of students achieved their T-level qualification at the College, significantly higher than the national average of 90.5%. A remarkable 100% achievement rate was achieved in T-level subjects such as Building Services Engineering for Construction, Digital Support Services, Supporting Healthcare and Education and Childcare.

Rachael Foster, who studied a T-level in Healthcare Science, has excelled by achieving a Distinction. With this accomplishment, Rachael has earned a place at Bangor University to study for a degree in Diagnostic Radiography.

Nathan James from Maghull, who achieved a Merit on the T-level in Digital Support Services course, undertook his industry placement with the Cyber Security team at BT, where he demonstrated his technical support and cybersecurity skills. Building on this experience, Nathan has secured a place at Edge Hill University to study for a Computer Science and Artificial Intellgence degree.

Keira Jewell, who completed T-level Education and Childcare, demonstrated her skills and dedication during an industry placement at Litherland Moss Primary School. Building on her successful experience and T-level studies, Keira has earned a spot at Edge Hill University to study Educational Psychology.

A student who studied a T-level in Building Services Engineering for Construction, Layton Jones, has achieved a Merit in his studies and secured an apprenticeship with Axis Housing as an Electrician. His dedication and enthusiasm have led to this apprenticeship opportunity, where he will work with experienced electricians to gain hands-on experience and further develop his skills. With this apprenticeship, Layton is well on his way to a successful career in the building services industry.

A student who pursued a T-level in Supporting Healthcare, Paige Gallogley excelled during her industry placement at Mersey Care and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, demonstrating her commitment and skill in healthcare. Paige achieved a Distinction in her T-level course. These accomplishments have paved the way for her next step in healthcare; she has secured a spot to study Adult Nursing at Liverpool John Moores University.

Ellie Downey achieved a T-level in Education and Childcare, turning her successful industry placement into a career opportunity. After demonstrating her skills and commitment at Kids Planet in Fazakerley, where she completed her placement, Ellie has been offered a position as a Nursery Nurse. Her natural rapport with children and understanding of childcare principles impressed the staff, leading to this opportunity.

Annie Mouat from Bootle achieved a Distinction on the T-level Supporting Healthcare Mental Health Nursing pathway. Her dedication to the field was evident during her industry placement at CARAH Care, where she gained hands-on experience and insights into mental health nursing. Her successful placement and cours achievements have paved the way for her to pursue a degree in university.
