THE build-up to the 2023 Local Elections in Sefton (Southport Area) being declared and the results being read out.

This is live footage taken at the Sefton Council Count for the following wards:- Ainsdale, Birkdale, Cambridge, Norwood, Meols, Kew, and Dukes Wards.

Results read out are as follows:-

Ainsdale Ward:-

Elected - Janet Catherine Harrison - The Labour Party - won with 1497 votes - 36% of votes.

Lesley Delves - Not Elected - Liberal Democrats - 1481 votes - 35% of votes.
Nigel Ball - Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 1046 votes - 25% of votes.
Laurence George Rankin - Not Elected - The Green Party - 187 votes - 4% of votes.

Birkdale Ward:-

Elected - Simon Shaw - Liberal Democrats - won with 1431 votes - 40% of votes.

Ged Wright - Not Elected - The Labour Party - 1356 votes - 38% of votes.
Samuel (Sam) Harris - Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 504 votes - 14% of votes.
David William Collins - Not Elected - The Green Party - 134 votes - 4% of votes.
Andrew Norman Lynn - Not Elected - Reform UK - 110 votes - 3% of votes.

Cambridge Ward:-

Elected - Leo Evans - Liberal Democrats - won with 1468 votes - 43% - of votes.

Gary Robert Owen Haran Doyle - Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 1175 votes - 34% of votes.
Joanne Faulkner - Not Elected - The Labour Party - 658 votes - 19% of votes.
Carla Fox - Not Elected - The Green Party - 140 votes - 4% of votes.

Norwood Ward:-

Elected - Greg Myers - Not Elected - The Labour Party - won with 1754 votes - 59% of votes.

Jo Barton - Liberal Democrats - Not Elected - 551 votes - 19% of votes.
Pamela (Pam) Teesdale - Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 465 votes - 16% of votes.
David McIntosh - Not Elected - he Green Party - 188 votes - 6% of votes.

Meols Ward:-

Elected - Lauren Davidson - Liberal Democrats - won with 1502 votes - 45% of votes. Robert (Bob) Innes Teesdale -

Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 879 votes - 26% of votes.
Stephen James Jowett - Not Elected - The Labour Party - 791 votes - 24% of votes.
Pauline Ann Hesketh - Not Elected - The Green Party - 189 votes - 6% of votes.

Kew Ward:-

Elected - Sean Halsall - The Labour Party - won with 1599 votes - 53% of votes.

Victor (Vic) Foulds - Liberal Democrats - 622 votes - 20% of votes.
Margaret Eileen Middleton - The Conservative Party - 595 votes - 20% of votes.
Gerald George (Will) White - The Green Party - 228 votes - 7% of votes.

Dukes Ward:-

Elected - John Pugh - Liberal Democrats - won with 1496 votes - 42% of votes.

Laura Nutall - Not Elected - The Conservative Party - 1214 votes - 34% of votes.
Trevor James Vaughan - Not Elected - The Labour Party - 676 votes - 19% of votes.
Alwynne Ann Cartmell - Not Elected - The Green Party - 165 votes - 5% of votes.

The overall Sefton Council Election Seats Won:-

The Labour Party - 17 newly won seats.
Liberal Democrats - 4 newly won seats.
