  • Law School of the Year – School of Law and Criminal Justice

  • Heart Creative Arts Award - Tenderfoot Theatre CIC

Interim Vice-Chancellor Lynda Brady said:- “We are thrilled to be finalists in 5 categories at this year’s Educate North Awards. These nominations demonstrate our commitment to excellence in education, strong partnerships and making a real difference for our students and communities. The Young Marketeers project is a great example of this - the project helps children learn about food systems, sustainable eating, and develop skills they'll use throughout their lives."

The Business School and SME Productivity & Innovation Centre were nominated in the Business Engagement, Employer Award for their research-informed Leadership for Growth programme, which helps small and medium-sized businesses grow. The programme focuses on tackling challenges, especially in leadership and management, through flexible support to encourage growth and increased productivity.

The Sustainable Green Initiative nomination is for the work that Student Life and Corporate Sustainability have done on ‘The Big Campus Clear Out’, which encourages students who are moving out to donate their unwanted items and reduce waste. The campaign embodies our approach to sustainability at Edge Hill through preventing waste, reducing carbon emissions and supporting the local community.

Edge Hill's School of Law and Criminal Justice has been shortlisted for the team’s creative and innovative curriculum, offering modules like AI and Technology Law, a focus on the employability of students, a strong alumni network and research program.

The Heart Creative Arts Award shortlisting is for Tenderfoot Theatre CIC, a sustainability-focused graduate theatre company now in artistic residency at Edge Hill University. The company works with the Creative Arts Department to create cutting edge and engaging works of theatre with sustainability at its core.

And Edge Hill is in the running for the Community Engagement Award thanks to The Young Marketeers project. This program teaches inner City children about healthy and sustainable eating, and how to fight food insecurity; a partnership with School Food Matters, Young Marketeers makes a real difference in communities that need it most.

The awards, now in their 11th year, will be presented at a ceremony at The Hilton Hotel, Manchester on:- Thursday, 3 April 2025.

Edge Hill previously won the Educate North University of the Year Award in 2021/22. Last year, the University was the most decorated institution at the awards, claiming 3 awards and a high commendation.
