WE are told that Police across the UK will be out in force this weekend, following a week of unrest. Today, the Home Office Minister Lord Hanson said would-be rioters to:- "be prepared to face the full force of the law on this criminal activity."

Merseyside Police has said that anyone intent on causing disorder would be dealt with "robustly" and out again tonight in numbers and doing an amazing job of keeping our community safe.

Both in Southport and Liverpool, stop and search powers have been enhanced, and extra Police Officers deployed in Southport and Liverpool City Centre.

Grieving families must be at the forefront of our minds and not these thugs who are 'acting' on false information. We must rebuild our community instead of breaking it. These thugs who bring violence to a devastated community are not protesting, they are just out for a fight.

We must always extend a hand of friendship, even in the darkest of times, and challenge hatred based on people's identities. As a nation, we must work out a way to stop these opportunists who have shamelessly attempted to undermine and divide our communities.
