PINE Court Housing Association is committed to positively promoting cultural tolerance and cohesion across their diverse communities which are made up of 56% of customers with a mixed ethnic background.

In an effort to create thriving, inclusive communications for residents, a strategic partnership between:- Pine Court Housing Association and Merseyside Police has been established. Together, they are enhancing community safety practices across the Liverpool City Region (LCR), implementing measures that prioritise the needs of the diverse communities they serve.

Both parties have joined the CitySafe Partnership, Disarm L8, which involves joint agency meetings promoting collaborative working to prevent and reduce crime and disorder, improving community cohesion. Additionally, neighbourhood walkabouts are conducted within communities across the LCR by officers on patrol who engage with residents, and assess security measures in place.

Regular coffee mornings are hosted at Pine Court Housing Association’s sheltered scheme, Chung Hok House, where residents are invited to meet with representatives from both organisations. It provides an informal setting for residents to ask questions, share any concerns, and discuss issues, hate crime experiences, or antisocial behaviour they may be experiencing in their community.

Pine Court Housing Association’s dedicated team of Bilingual Housing Assistant's recently supported Merseyside Police's new online scam protection scheme:- 'Virtual Kidnap,' which provides translation services to Chinese internal students to help prevent them falling victim to online scams in the UK.

David Brown, Director at Pine Court said:- "Pine Court Housing Association is committed to creating a thriving and inclusive environment where all residents feel valued, safe and respected. Our partnership with Merseyside Police outlines our shared commitment to promoting cultural cohesion and enhancing community safety practices. Together, we will work tirelessly to build bridges, promote inclusivity and create a sense of belonging within our diverse community."

Azizur Rahman, Inspector, Merseyside Police Community Engagement Unit, added:- "Thanks to our partnership with Pine Court Housing, we have held several local community drop-in sessions covering topics such as online fraud, hate crime and personal safety. These events help to raise awareness of how to report a crime and what steps can be taken to prevent becoming a future victim. They also provide a great opportunity to engage with residents, so we can hear their issues or concerns directly."

Pine Court is part of The Sovini Group, a unique supply chain covering:- housing, construction, property and facilities services, who were also celebrated for their approach to diversity and inclusion at the awards ceremony.
