Insights - Unveiling the North West's Steady Climb in Defibrillator Provisions
THE Manchester based group Defibshop released its annual Cardiac Coverage Report for 2024. The 2021/22 version was placed in national press circulation and took a view on access to publicly accessible defibrillators by the Local Authority.
By leveraging data from multiple data sources (including:- FOI requests to Ambulance Services) - Defibshop's report sheds light on the significant improvements made by local authorities to ensure that defibrillators are more accessible than ever before. This progress is highlighted by a 228.78% increase in accessible defibrillators nationwide compared to 2021/22. defibshops Head of Marketing and PR, Kerry Fairhurst, commented:- “Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests continue to take the lives of most people who suffer 1. The growth in registered defibrillators on The Circuit (National Defibrillator Network) over the last 2 years has been significant, allowing an increased chance of survival to many more individuals. It is vital that this trend continues and Guardians ensure their unit is ready in the event of an emergency and their status is communicated with The Circuit." Key messaging:-
