ONCE again this year Southport Pleasureland, the iconic Merseyside amusement park, was proud to host Star Trekk, the Queenscourt Hospice’s popular annual night walk.

The 10k sponsored walk raises significant funds each year in aid of the Queenscourt Hospice, which provides exceptional care for patients with life-limiting illnesses in West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.

Continuing to demonstrate its unwavering support for the charity’s flagship fundraising event, Southport Pleasureland acted again as headquarters for the walk this year, providing the start and finish line for the trekkers. The park also put on a spectacular after party celebration for all those who took part, at its newly renovated Valhalla Venue.

This year’s event saw a phenomenal turnout, with over 1,000 participants flocking to the park. An incredible total of £915,000.00 has been raised to date for the charity over the 17 years the trek has been running.

CEO of Southport Pleasureland, Normal Wallis, said:- “The work of the Queenscourt Hospice providing palliative care to those in need is truly invaluable to the people of Southport, West Lancashire, and Formby. It was fantastic to see so many people showing up in aid of the charity and doing their bit to raise much-needed funds for such a worthy cause. The park was positively buzzing with atmosphere!”

Norman continued:- “We have a long-standing history of acting as host for the Star Trekk in line with our programme of community engagement, and we are proud to play our part in supporting the Queenscourt Hospice to continue its crucial work for families in the local area."
