WWT Martin Mere will be running a special:- "Easter Duck Trail' from:- Saturday, 1 April to Sunday, 16 April 2023.

Visitors taking part will be able to spot 25 giant bright yellow ducks hidden around the centre, giving everyone the perfect excuse to explore the site top to bottom.

Families can pick up the activity sheet on arrival and venture around the grounds learning about WWT’s real ducks as they explore. Search high and low and use hide-and-seek skills to find the giant ducks. It’s £1 a go and there’s a tasty treat for finding them all.

Crafty kids can also decorate a smaller duck at the centre for £3.50 and bring it back on:- 1 May 2023, to take part in Martin Mere’s annual Duck Race. There will also be other crafts including designing a wooden decoration, and making badges and keyrings.

In the afternoon, families can head to the Pond Zone and delve deep into the waters to discover creatures such as pond skaters, newts, and water boatmen.

Those looking for an extra adventure can head to the canoe safari area where they can hire a canoe or go on a relaxing boat tour, exploring parts of the centre not accessible on foot.

Nick Brooks, Centre Manager at Martin Mere said:- “Easter is the perfect time to spot all the new life at our centres from budding trees to fluffy ducklings. Our duck trail will excite and inspire, helping everyone to feel closer to nature and to engage with the wonders of our wetlands.”
