Former Wilko store in Southport begins journey to become a Poundland
THE London Street Wilko store to re-open after it was announced it had secured an agreement with administrator PwC to take an option on a number of Wilko store leases. Poundland then confirmed the Wilko in Southport would begin its journey to becoming a Poundland on:- Saturday, 30 September 2023. The former Wilko store at 36-40 London Street, Southport, PR90TJ will now offer a range of Poundland favorurites in store alongside any existing clearance items from its time as a Wilko.
Poundland retail director Darren Kay said:- "We're pleased to be able to re-open so quickly in Southport; not least because our ambition is to provide job opportunities for former Wilko colleagues. Of course, we're not yet in a position to offer our fullest ranges in the store, but we know customers will appreciate a store that's open, trading and employing colleagues to 1 that's got its shutters closed. We'd encourage customers old and new to come and say hello to their new Poundland team from this coming Saturday." Poundland intends to carry out a full makeover of the Southport store in 2024 so it can become a fully operational Poundland.book or Twitter.
