THIS is a statement from Chris McGlade, Chair of Merseyside Police Federation, following on from the events in Liverpool yesterday:- "First and foremost, my thoughts are with those injured in yesterday’s incident in Liverpool, as well as their families, friends, and everyone affected. What happened was deeply saddening, especially on a day that should have been one of pride and celebration for the City. I want to pay tribute to the bravery and professionalism shown by:- Merseyside Police Officers, our emergency service colleagues, and members of the public who responded with courage and compassion during an incredibly difficult and fast moving situation. Their swift actions helped protect lives and brought calm amid chaos. Our Officers go out every day to serve and protect our communities, and yesterday they once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment in the face of danger and distress. We will continue to support our members and all those affected as the investigation continues."
