AHEAD of Storm Éowyn's arrival, the Met Office has issued an Amber Wind Warning for large parts of Northern England and Wales, including the Liverpool City Region.
Storm Éowyn is expected to bring very strong winds and widespread disruption on:- Friday, 24 January 2024, from around:- 6am to 9pm.
The Met Office is warning of potential power cuts. Travel might be affected with someroads and bridges might be closed, rail, air and ferry services might also see cancellations possible. This might affect journey times.
There is a chance that damage to buildings and homes could occur, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down. Plus, we might see injuries and danger to life, due to the possibility of flying debris, as well as:- large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
A Red Weather Warnings have been issued for Scotland and Northern Irland.
A yellow warning for Wind and a Yellow Warning for Rain are also being issued from:- Sunday, 25 January 2025 to Monday 27 January 2025.
