STUDENTS who commute to school by train have until:- Friday, 24 January 2025 to benefit from a 25% discount from the train operator, Northern.
Sales of Under 16 Education Season Tickets for the spring school term will close at the end of this week.
Students who commit to commute by rail for a full year will see the discount offered doubled to 50%.
The scheme, which Northern runs in partnership with TransPennine Express, is part of a long-running campaign to get more students to switch their commute from road to rail.
Alex Hornby, commercial and customer director at Northern, said:- “Under 16 Education Season Tickets offer students a great discount – especially if they will commit to the full school year. As well as providing a significant saving on the cost of the school commute, they can be used at weekends and bank holidays too. With the spring term now underway, we wanted to remind them of this last chance to make a 25% saving for the term – or a 50% saving for the year - on the cost of the school run.”
