MERSEYSIDE Police, Vibe UK, Sefton Council, and The Merseyside Violence Reduction Unit are excited to announce the launch of a dynamic new outreach programme aimed at supporting young people in Sefton.
This collaborative effort will focus on reaching young people in areas identified for higher rates of anti-social behaviour, including Southport, to provide direct and meaningful support.
Led by Vibe UK’s skilled youth work team, this programme is designed to engage young people in community 'hotspots', addressing critical issues such as mental health, substance misuse, sexual health, and anti-social behaviour. Vibe UK’s dedicated outreach workers will be on the ground, connecting with young people, listening to their concerns, and fostering personal and social growth.
Paul Oginsky, CEO of Vibe UK, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership:- “We are grateful for the support of Merseyside Police, The Merseyside Violence Reduction Unit, and Sefton Council. Together, we’re bringing Vibe UK youth workers directly into Sefton’s communities, creating safer spaces for young people to grow and thrive. This collaboration is a powerful step forward in making a lasting difference for Sefton’s young people.”
In addition to connecting young people with local services, Vibe UK’s team will promote its own successful initiatives, including the “Good Choices” and “Positive Vibes Programme (PVP),” which support positive decision-making and community involvement. The programme aims to empower young people to make informed choices and build resilience while encouraging them to play a positive role within their communities.
Paul Holden, Superintendent for Sefton said:- “This collaborative outreach programme reflects our commitment to supporting Sefton’s young people by proactively engaging with them where they are. By working alongside Vibe UK, Sefton Council, and The Merseyside Violence Reduction Unit, we’re creating opportunities for young people to access support, build trust, and make positive life choices. Together, we’re dedicated to fostering safer communities, and I am confident that this initiative will make a meaningful impact.”
This initiative underscores a shared commitment to creating a safer, more supportive environment for Sefton’s youth, ensuring they have access to the resources and relationships needed for a positive future.
