THIS October half-term, the National Football Museum becomes the National Frightball Museum, with free family activities and workshops throughout the holiday.

Young supporters can create and take home their very own miniature football mascot at Monstrous Mascots on Level 1. Will it be a Gunner-saurus or a Frighty Red?

In the Pitch Gallery, a chilling curse has taken hold that makes footballers play badly. To break The Captain’s Curse, families can design their own captain’s armband, then prove its paranormal powers on the museum’s street football challenge, Yard Ball.

Further up the museum, the resident witch on Level 2 is reading fortunes. Football Fortune-telling will reveal whether your team is heading for a league title, relegation or something even worse.

On Level 3, Frankenstein’s Footballer invites families to explore the importance of body parts in football in the Head, Shoulders, Knees & Goals exhibition, before building a footballer of their own.

On Level 4, Potions and Predictions sees visitors brew a magical potion that reveals invisible ink. It’s perfect for writing secret football predictions, wishes and desires. Keep it hidden and see what comes true!

All workshops run daily from:- 10am to 4pm.

Tim Desmond, CEO at the National Football Museum, said:- “Football has always had its fair share of spooky stories and superstitions and this October half term at The National Football Museum, we are embracing them in the form of free family fun! From footballing fortunes to captain's curses, visitors can enjoy spooky, sporty fun for all ages. It's a Halloween event not to be missed!"
