LIVERPOOL author Lisa J. Allen attended St. Gabriel’s Primary School in Huyton last week to officially open the new school library in what has been described by staff as an:- “exciting new chapter” for the school that will inspire pupils to pick up a book, discover their new favourite author, and fall in love with reading.

Lisa, who lives in Allerton, is the author of the "Undercover Angel" series, published by British independent publisher Tiny Tree Books. 

She said:- “I was thrilled to be asked to visit St Gabriel's new library because I believe that every child should have access to a wide variety of books throughout their school journey to allow them to develop a love of reading.” 

During the event, Lisa met with St. Gabriel’s staff and students:- “I have very fond memories of my own primary school library and it was fantastic to meet St Gabriel's library monitors and to find out what kind of books they like to read. I enjoy visiting schools across Merseyside to tell children all about being an author, my books and, of course, the joy of reading!"

The development of St. Gabriel’s new library has been supported through Libraries for Primaries, an organisation working to ensure every primary school has a library or dedicated library space.

Rehanna Ismail, Reading Lead at St. Gabriel’s Primary School, says:- “We are incredibly excited to officially open our new library and to give our children a space that celebrates the joy and importance of reading. The support from Libraries for Primaries has helped us to create a library, giving our children access to a wider range of books and opportunities to develop a lifelong love of reading.”

Rehanna continues:- “We feel incredibly lucky to be able to have Lisa J. Allen join us for such a special occasion. Lisa’s passion for books, storytelling and inspiring young readers makes her the perfect person to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter for our school. We know that her visit will be something the children remember for a long time and will hopefully inspire many of them to pick up a book, discover a new favourite author and fall even more in love with reading.”

The 1st 2 books in Lisa J. Allen’s "Undercover Angel" series - Undercover Angel:- Crash Landing and Undercover Angel:- Grounded — are both available now, with a 3d book set to be published by Tiny Tree Books in:- February 2027.
