Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) where called to assist Police in Southport

FOLLOWING a number of reports about a Bomb Desposal vehicle heading into Southport that our newsroom received we contacted Merseyside Police for information.

Merseyside Police told us that Officers were in attendance at a house in Southport after a search warrant was carried out on:- Friday, 25 July 2025.

A subsequent search recovered an item which was subject of further examination.

The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) where called to assist and confirmed the item was a disused firework.

The address will be retained for a further search today (Saturday, b26 July 2025) but Merseyside Police have confirmed thst there is no concern for anyone's safety.
