THE Environment Agency is warning residents along the Northwest coastline to be prepared for potential flooding this evening and into the weekend due to unusually high tides.
Currently, 4 flood warnings and 10 flood alerts are in place across the region.
Flood warnings are currently in effect for:-

Wyre estuary at Thornton, affecting Nestleton, Underbank Rd, Aylesbury House and Silcock's Cottages

Lancashire coastline at Sunderland, around Sunderland Point, Bazil Point and Potts Corner

Mersey Estuary at Arpley Bridge, Warrington

Preesall, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire
Residents in affected areas are urged to stay informed and take precautions to ensure their safety.

Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters:- Just 30 cm of water can float a car

Stay safe:- Keep away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
