CHESHIRE and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP), is asking local people to make a difference in their community - by standing as a governor.

The nomination window to become a CWP governor opened on:- Thursday, 4 September 2025. It closes on:- Friday, 19 September 2025.

Chair Isla Wilson said:- “We know the NHS means so much to our communities and has been a topic of discussion nationally for some time. People take pride in our NHS but also often have valuable opinions on how we can improve. We are asking local people to make a difference by becoming an NHS governor, representing the views of their community and influencing key decisions. We have openings for public governors in Wirral and East Cheshire, as well as a governor for the rest of England. If you want to be a voice for your community and are passionate about improving healthcare services, please get in touch.”

As an NHS Foundation Trust Governor, you will:-

  • Represent your community’s interests
  • Influence key decisions
  • Work with healthcare leaders
  • Drive positive change
  • Work as part of a team


People can be elected as a service user, carer, staff or public governor. Our full openings are below:-

  • Patient:- Service User / Carers – 5 vacancies
  • Public:- Cheshire East – 1 vacancy
  • Public:- Metropolitan Borough of Wirral - 1 vacancy
  • Public:- Rest of England and Wales - 1 vacancy
  • Staff:- Nursing - 1 vacancy
  • Staff:- Therapies - 2 vacancies
